XBert has enabled two-factor authentication as an additional layer of protection for your data and to reduce the risk of someone accessing your XBert account if they manage to learn your email address and password login credentials.
Xero and other cloud accounting software, online banking, and many other apps and services use two-factor authentication.
XBert customers who use an email and password to log in to XBert will need to use two-factor authentication. Remember, you can also use your Xero or Google credentials to access XBert.
Customers using Xero or Google single sign-on to log in to XBert will not need two-factor authentication.
Getting set up
If you sign up or usually access XBert using an email address and password, the next time you log in, you'll be asked to set up two-factor authentication.
Once you've set up two-factor authentication, you'll need to complete both steps to log in to XBert by entering your email and password plus a unique code.
The easiest way to set up two-factor authentication is to use an authenticator app like Google Authenticator or something similar. Please download and install your preferred app.
1. To get started, scan the QR code with your phone's camera
2. This will open your authenticator app
3. Your authenticator app will generate a unique passcode
4. Enter the passcode in the field as shown in the example image above.
5. Next, you'll be given a recovery code that can be used whenever you don't have your device and authenticator app handy. Make a note of the recovery code and keep it somewhere safe.
You'll have to confirm you've recorded the recovery code before proceeding.
Do I need to authenticate each time I log in?
No, after you've set up two-factor, the next time you next log in to XBert you can choose the option to Remember this browser for 30 days, and you won't need to enter a code for 30 days when you use the same browser.
What if I'm having trouble or have lost my recovery code?
If you have any problems accessing XBert after setting up two-factor authentication, please submit a support request.
The XBert Support Team can reset your two-factor authentication.
You'll need to go through the process and set up two-factor authentication again.
