Some task titles include title tokens, such as the month or year. These tokens normally update automatically based on the Start Date when the task is first created. This keeps tasks aligned with the correct reporting period.
However, for existing tasks created before this improvement, changing the Start Date alone does not update the title token. A new feature now gives admins a clear way to update the title token when a task has fallen out of sync.
What’s new
For tasks that use a token-based title, admins will now see a dedicated Update Title option in the Advanced section in Timeline.
This option appears only when:
The task uses a title token
You are an admin
The task was created after the release (newly generated tasks)
This button lets admins manually update the title token to match the corrected Start Date.
How it works
For updating title tokens
Open the task where the title contains a token (e.g., BAS Monthly – October).
If you need to change the period, first adjust the Start Date in Timeline.
Use the Edit Start Date pencil icon.
Click Save.
If the task supports token updates, you’ll see an Advanced section.
Click the Update Title button to update the title token so it matches the Start Date.
Important:
Editing the Start Date (via the Edit Start Date pencil icon) does not update the title token.
For moving the Start Date only
Open the task where the title contains a token (e.g., BAS Monthly – October).
If you need to change the period, first adjust the Start Date in Timeline.
Important:
Old tasks' start dates can be moved (existing tasks created before this improvement). However, the Update Title Token will not be available and the title token cannot be updated.
This means that editing the Start Date (via the Edit Start Date pencil icon) does not update the title token.
Why this matters
This improvement gives admins a simple way to correct titles after dates change, especially useful when:
A workflow was duplicated into a new period
A Start Date was entered incorrectly
A recurring workflow needs to be realigned
It ensures titles remain consistent without manual editing.
