Overview
The "Employee details missing after pay run" XBert identifies payroll records that are incomplete following a pay run. Missing key details can result in compliance risks, incorrect superannuation payments, and delays in payroll processing.
This alert helps ensure that your payroll data is complete and up to the standards required by Australian tax and employment laws.
What it does
XBert checks newly synced employee records and identifies if any of the following essential fields are missing:
Tax File Number (TFN)
Super Fund membership
Email address
Either a mobile or phone number
If any of these details are missing after a pay run has been processed, XBert raises an alert to prompt timely follow-up.
How it works
XBert analyses the payroll employee records in your accounting system (e.g. Xero or MYOB) and flags missing values for:
Tax and super details required for PAYG and superannuation compliance
Contact details that support communication and some fund administration
No validation is performed on the content itself—only the existence of the required fields is checked.
Example/Use Case
Billy joins ACME Bikes and is added to payroll. However, after 28 days he still hasn’t submitted his TFN. According to ATO rules, Billy must now be taxed at the highest marginal rate (47%) until the TFN is provided. This reduces his take-home pay and creates additional administrative work to correct the issue later.
Billy also failed to nominate a super fund, so contributions are directed to the company’s default fund. Later, he asks for payments to be redirected to a different fund, leading to further complications and potential fund transfer delays.

Keeping payroll data complete and accurate protects your business from penalties and ensures smooth superannuation and tax processing.
