Assigning a work item tells everyone who is picking it up. XBerts and Tasks both work the same way, and you can change the assignee at any time, as long as that person has access to the client.
Assign a single work item
On your work list or work board, click a summary to open its Details tile on the right.
In the action bar down the right-hand side, click the Assign icon.
Pick the person from the list. Whoever it is currently assigned to is highlighted, and there is a search box if your list is long.
Add a message if you want to give them some context, then Save.
The assignee then shows on the work list and work board, and on the detail tile whenever anyone opens the item.
Who you can assign to
The list holds your team members, and also any client users who have been invited into that client's Client Console. You do not choose between two lists, they simply appear together.

đĄ A greyed-out name means that person cannot be assigned this item.
Who you can assign to depends on each user's client access permissions, so someone without access to that client will not be selectable. An admin can check and change a user's access in Settings.

Assign several at once
To reassign a batch of work items in one go, use bulk actions.
On your work list or work board, narrow the view down to the items you want. You can show XBerts or Tasks only, and use the Date Range Selector to pick the period they fall in.
Click Actions, then Bulk actions.
Tick the work items you want to reassign, then click Continue.
Choose Update Assigned User, then click Continue again.
Select the new user, then click Update Notifications.
The items you selected are now assigned to that person.

Will they know?
If they have Assignments switched on in their notification preferences, they are notified as soon as the item is assigned or reassigned to them. They can choose to receive it in the app, by email, or both.
