How To: Override XPM Job Task Auto-Mapping

In certain cases, an XBert Task that is originally linked to a different XPM Job can change to a more recent task with the same Job code. Especially during EOY, when all time switches to new jobs for the next financial year. Users can override this by locating the XPM Job they'd like it to be and changing the XPM Auto-Mapping to the desired XPM Job Task.

Note: Doing this will not affect previous times pushed to XPM. Once you've updated the XPM Job for auto-mapping, ensure that team members who commit time to this task in XBert are assigned to the job in XPM or the times won't be pushed to XPM.

To summarise, check the following to resolve issues with linked times:

  • Ensure that the XPM jobs are linked to the corresponding client in XBert.

  • Manually select the XPM Job and Job Task if auto-linking fails.

  • Verify that the 'Automatically link XBerts/Tasks to XPM Job Tasks' setting is enabled.

  • Confirm that the XBert task is mapped to the XPM client owning the XPM Job.

  • Check that the XPM Job is not completed and that the task dates align with the XPM Job Start and End Date range.

  • Ensure that there is a corresponding XPM Task created from the process that is mapped to the XBert task.

If you need to see time recorded and pushed to XPM, you can get time reporting without having connected files either by client, team member, or practice, which is available in the app without connected files. You can see what time has been billed and sent to XPM and the job it is linked to. For more information on viewing actual time recorded and billable hours per client, you can visit this link: Viewing Actual Time Recorded & Billable Hours per Client.
